Colophon

This page explains how urielpapa.com is put together. It doubles as a small, working example of the SEO, GEO and AEO ideas I write about.

What is it built with?

  • Framework:Astro, started from the open-source AstroPaper theme by Sat Naing and reworked into a black and white design.
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS 4, with light and dark themes that follow your system setting.
  • Content and CMS: posts are Markdown and MDX files in the Git repository, edited through Keystatic.
  • Hosting: static pages on Vercel's CDN. Only the contact form and newsletter signup run on the server.
  • Search:Pagefind, a static search index built at deploy time.
  • Fonts: Bricolage Grotesque for headings, Albert Sans for text and JetBrains Mono for code, all self-hosted.

Why is it so light?

Pages are plain HTML and CSS. The only JavaScript is small and optional: the theme switch, search, copying code, sharing, and progressive enhancement for the forms. Everything still works without it.

How is it made readable for search engines and AI tools?

  • Structured data (JSON-LD) on every page: WebSite and Person everywhere, BlogPosting on posts, breadcrumbs, and FAQ only where the questions are visible.
  • A plain Markdown copy of every post at the same address plus .md, marked noindex so it never competes with the page.
  • A generated llms.txt summary, a full RSS feed and an XML sitemap.
  • A robots.txt that welcomes search, AI search and AI training crawlers.

What does it track?

Nothing by default. If analytics is switched on, it loads only after you interact with the page and records page views plus a few events such as newsletter signups.
